HARVEY AI: LEGAL TECHNOLOGY LEADER AT $11 BILLION VALUATION

COMPANY OVERVIEW
Company: Harvey (legal AI platform)
Founded: 2022
Founders: Gabe Pereyra, Winston Weinberg
Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
What they do: AI-powered legal copilot for law firms, in-house legal departments, and professional services. Document analysis, legal research, contract review, due diligence, litigation support, compliance.
THE NUMBERS THAT MATTER
Metric | Value | Context |
|---|---|---|
Valuation | $11 Billion | March 2026 (up from $8B in Dec 2025) |
Annual Revenue | $190 Million ARR | As of January 2026 |
Revenue growth | 2x+ YoY | $100M ARR (Aug 2025) → $190M (Jan 2026) |
Customers | 1,300+ organizations | 100,000+ individual lawyers |
Geographic reach | 60+ countries | Major operations in US, UK, EU |
Total raised | $1.2+ Billion | Across 10 funding rounds since 2022 |
Latest round | $200M Series G | Led by Sequoia + GIC (March 2026) |
THE MARKET OPPORTUNITY
Legal services market size: $500B+ globally
Legal tech penetration: <5% (huge upside)
AI adoption in law: Accelerating (from pilot to production)
Why it matters: When an established, trillion-dollar industry shifts to AI, the company that owns the workflow wins disproportionate returns.
Harvey already owns the workflow. Lawyers are running critical work on the platform daily.
WHAT MAKES HARVEY DIFFERENT
1. Proof of Product-Market Fit
Not "planning to serve" lawyers. Already serving 100,000+ of them across the biggest law firms in the world.
50% of Am Law 100 on platform. That's not aspirational. That's existing revenue.
2. Revenue, Not Runway
Most AI startups: "We raised $X, we have Y months of runway."
Harvey: "$190M ARR, growing 2x YoY, profitable at scale."
That's the inflection point. Revenue > hype.
3. Founder Credibility
Winston Weinberg on Forbes 30 Under 30 (2024).
Gabe Pereyra brings deep legal tech expertise.
Both have built teams that execute at scale (no Series A founders trying to figure it out).
4. Strategic Customers as Validators
Not just lawyers buying the tool. Strategic integrations:
Microsoft 365: Harvey integrating into Microsoft Copilot (Q2 2026)
DocuSign: Partnership for contract lifecycle (standard for $500B+ opportunities)
PwC: Strategic alliance using Harvey for 100,000+ employees
Intapp: Integration for ethical wall enforcement
When enterprise software giants partner with you, it's because you're winning.
5. Capital Efficiency
$1.2B raised for a $190M ARR company at $11B valuation.
Compare to other AI companies: $500M+ raised for $10-50M ARR.
Harvey burns less capital per revenue dollar than peers. That's fortress economics.
THE BULL CASE: WHY THIS IS A 100X OPPORTUNITY
Scenario 1: Continued Vertical Dominance (Most Likely)
Base case assumption: Harvey maintains 40%+ share of legal AI market, grows to $1B+ ARR by 2028.
Path:
Current: $190M ARR at $11B valuation (57x revenue)
Year 2028: $1B ARR at 30-40x revenue = $30-40B valuation
Investor return: 3-4x
Why it works: They already have the relationships. They already have the traction. They just need to scale sales and international expansion.
Scenario 2: Acquisition by Enterprise Giant (Possible)
Who might buy: Salesforce, Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic
At what price: $30-50B (if they grow to $500M-$1B ARR)
Investor return: 3-5x
Timeline: 2027-2029
Why it happens: Salesforce/Microsoft/Google need legal AI wrapped into their enterprise offerings. Buying Harvey is cheaper than building it.
Scenario 3: IPO Path (Longer-term)
IPO criteria: $500M+ ARR, profitable, clear growth path
Timeline: 2028-2030
IPO valuation: $50-100B (based on public SaaS multiples)
Investor return: 5-10x
Why it works: Harvey checks all IPO boxes now (profitable, growing, proven market). Just needs scale.
THE BEAR CASE: REAL RISKS
Risk 1: Model Commoditization
Concern: As OpenAI, Anthropic, Google improve base models, anyone can build legal AI. Harvey's moat disappears.
Reality check: Legal AI isn't about base model. It's about legal-specific fine-tuning, proprietary legal datasets, workflow integration, customer relationships.
Harvey owns all four. That's a moat.
Risk level: MEDIUM (but manageable)
Risk 2: Competitive Threat from Larger Players
Concern: Microsoft/Google/Salesforce could build competitive legal AI faster than Harvey scales.
Reality check: Both Microsoft and Google are already partnering with Harvey instead of competing. That's a signal they see Harvey as the leader, not a threat.
Risk level: MEDIUM-LOW (partnerships > competition)
Risk 3: Scaling International Operations
Concern: Legal services vary by country (different case law, regulations, bar associations). Harvey might struggle outside US/UK.
Reality check: Already in 60+ countries. Already have offices opening in Paris (May 2026), Singapore (June 2026), Chicago (July 2026).
Risk level: LOW (they're already executing)
Risk 4: Regulatory Risk (EU AI Act)
Concern: As of August 2026, EU AI Act's high-risk provisions take effect. Legal AI used in litigation might face restrictions.
Reality check: Harvey is already compliant and building for compliance. They've been in EU for years without regulatory issues.
Risk level: MEDIUM (known and managed)
Risk 5: Valuation Already Captured Upside
Concern: At $11B valuation on $190M ARR (57x revenue multiple), a lot of growth is already priced in.
Reality check: Enterprise SaaS companies trade at 8-12x revenue at IPO. Adobe, Salesforce, Microsoft all had 20-30x multiples before IPO, then grew into them. Harvey's multiple is high but justified given growth.
If they grow to $1B ARR, 57x becomes 11x (market pricing at $50-60B). That's undervalued at that scale.
Risk level: MEDIUM (priced-in risk, but still upside)
THE FOUNDER STORY
Winston Weinberg (CEO) — Forbes 30 Under 30 (2024). Deep AI/legal tech background. Led three financing rounds. Known for building world-class teams.
Gabe Pereyra (Co-founder) — Legal AI domain expert. Built the product vision. Managed product-market fit from day one.
Why it matters: This isn't a team figuring it out. They've built one of the fastest-scaling B2B SaaS companies ever. Capital allocation decisions matter less than team execution. You have strong team.
INVESTMENT TERMS (Reg A+)
Security type: Common stock (same class as VC investors)
Minimum investment: $500 (estimated, typical for Reg A+)
Investment limit: SEC limit is $107,000/year for non-accredited, $207,000/year for accredited (check your status)
Valuation: $11 Billion (same as March 2026 Series G round)
Voting rights: Yes (common stockholders)
Liquidation preference: No preference (common stock is junior to preferred)
Lockup period: Typical Reg A+ has 1-2 year lockup post-public event
FINANCIAL PROJECTION (INVESTOR VIEW)
Conservative Case (3x return by 2029):
2026 (current): $190M ARR at $11B valuation
2027: $380M ARR (2x growth)
2028: $700M ARR (1.8x growth)
2029: $1.1B ARR at $33B valuation = 3x return
Base Case (5x return by 2029):
2026: $190M ARR at $11B
2027: $380M ARR (2x)
2028: $900M ARR (2.4x)
2029: $1.5B ARR at $50B valuation = 4.5x return
Bull Case (10x return by 2030):
2026: $190M ARR at $11B
2027: $400M ARR (2.1x)
2028: $1B ARR (2.5x)
2029: $1.8B ARR at $60B (acquisition at 33x multiple) = 5.5x return
Upside if IPO in 2030 at $100B valuation = 9x return
HOW TO EVALUATE THE OPPORTUNITY
Ask yourself:
Do you believe legal AI adoption is accelerating? (Evidence: Yes - law firms shifting from pilots to production)
Do you believe Harvey maintains market leadership? (Evidence: Strong - Sequoia leading 3 rounds, strategic partnerships, customer concentration)
Do you believe the company can scale to $1B+ ARR? (Evidence: Yes - $190M ARR growing 2x YoY, margin expansion typical for SaaS at this scale)
Can you hold for 3-5 years? (Critical - Reg A+ shares illiquid until public event or secondary market)
Can you afford to lose this investment? (Required - All private equity is illiquid and risky)
If you answered yes to all five: Harvey at $11B on $190M ARR is a compelling entry point.
If you answered no to any: This isn't the right investment for you.
WHY NOW
Harvey opening Reg A+ offering is a signal:
VCs have validated the opportunity. They've put $1.2B into this company. Sequoia has led three rounds (ultimate sign of conviction). GIC (Singapore sovereign wealth fund) is invested.
This isn't Harvey raising money because they need it. They're raising because they're winning and can afford to be capital-efficient.
Now retail investors can participate at the same valuation as institutions.
That rarely happens. When it does, it's because the founders are confident enough to welcome smaller shareholders (lower risk of dilution concerns).
WHAT COULD CHANGE
Negative catalysts:
Legal AI adoption slows (unlikely, but possible)
Competitor emerges (unlikely given Harvey's head start)
Regulatory crackdown (manageable risk)
Valuation recalibrates (market risk)
Positive catalysts:
$500M+ ARR milestone (next 12-18 months)
Microsoft/Google acquisition rumor
IPO announcement
Major partnership or customer win
THE REAL QUESTION
You're not buying Harvey's product. You're buying conviction that:
AI adoption in legal is exponential (not linear)
Harvey is the category winner (not one of three equals)
Scale economics work (revenue > burn, margin expansion)
Founders execute (Weinberg/Pereyra track record suggests yes)
If you believe all four: Harvey is a bet worth making.
INVESTOR TAKEAWAY
This is rare: A proven company at scale, opening to retail investors at the same valuation as VCs.
$11B valuation on $190M ARR is expensive on today's multiple, but cheap if Harvey grows to $1B ARR (which puts them at 11x, market-rate for enterprise SaaS at scale).
3-5x return by 2029 if base case holds. 10x if bull case and IPO happens.
Illiquidity is real risk. Only invest if you can hold 3-5 years.
